I've been enjoying the outdoors since before I could walk and this blog is an exploration of my adventures throughout the outdoors. Since I live in the northeast, that's where the majority of my trips take place, but I've been known to find my way across the country.
I grew up in Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains of New York so I was able to explore a lot of that area (I was even an asst. Forest Ranger for two seasons in Catskills so I got to hike even more!) along with the Adirondacks where I did a lot of hiking, canoeing and skiing.
I went to college in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom where the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire were a short drive away. I did a lot of hiking and skiing in the White Mountains and did a fair share of stuff in the Green Mountains and the mountains of the Northeast Kingdom.
Then it was off to Maine for a few years where I was able to get out into the great North Woods and also explore coastal Maine. I have to admit my favorite place in the Northeast is probably Baxter State Park - nothing around here really compares to Mount Katahdin.
Nowadays I live in Eastern Massachusetts, which isn't exactly home to the best hiking or climbing, but I've been doing my share of searching, checking out our local reservations and parks and also making time to get out to the rest of New England. Not only that, I still have family in New York, so I get over there fairly frequently for hikes, climbs and ski trips (and the occasional paddling trip).
