About
Adventures in the Outdoors main contributor and editor is Jeff Senterman.
Jeff has been enjoying the outdoors since before he could walk thanks to his parents who loved the outdoors. He grew up in Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains of New York and spent plenty of time exploring the area, but it wasn't just the Catskills though, Jeff and his Dad spent a lot of time in the Adirondacks. Then it was off to college in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom where the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire were a short drive away. Next was Maine for a few years where he was able to get out into the great North Woods and explore coastal Maine. That was followed by several years in eastern Massachusetts where the big woods of northern New England were replaced with explorations of local reservations and parks.
Today Jeff is in New York's Catskills region as the Executive Director of the Catskill Center. The Catskill Center works to protect and foster the environmental, cultural and economic well-being of the Catskill region. Prior to the Center, Jeff was the Trail Conference's Manager of Regional Program staff (while also focusing on issues in the Catskills) and thanks to that, he was able to be out on many of the trails throughout the New York and New Jersey metropolitan region. While being at the Catskill Center now means he's behind a desk more often, he still gets to enjoy the great outdoors that are in his backyard in the Catskills! Jeff is a contributing writer to the Catskill Mountain Region Guide Magazine with a monthly column on the great outdoors in the Catskill Mountains. Jeff also serves as a Director on the Board of Directors of the the American Hiking Society and the Catskill Watershed Corporation.
