News: No wintertime motor vehicle access to Balsam Lake Trailhead in Catskills

The Town of Hardenburgh has marked the of the Beaver Kill Road as seasonal and will no longer be plowing or maintaining the road in the winter months beyond the Mongaup-Hardenburgh Trailhead.  This means that there is no wintertime motor vehicle access to the Balsam Lake Trailhead.  Access will no be via foot, snowshoe or skis from the Mongaup-Hardenbugh Trailhead, an approximately 1.65 mile trip.

The Balsam Lake Trailhead provides access to the the Dry Brook Ridge Trail, the Balsam Lake Mountain Trail and the Neversink-Hardenburgh Trail.
