News: Coming Soon! Follow an Appalachian Trail Thru Hike

Soon we'll have a new contributor to Adventures in the Outdoors who will be starting out this April on the Appalachian Trail.  Moe intends to start at Springer Mountain in Georgia on April 6 and work his way north to Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park sometime in September.

We will be working with Moe to post photos and stories from his 2100+ mile trek north on the Appalachian Trail.  Expect at least weekly updates and we even hope to include so recorded interviews in podcasts to get an inside look at what it take to tackle the AT.

You can learn more about Moe's preparation at Moe Hikes the Appalachian Trail on Facebook.  In the meantime, stay tuned here at Adventures in the Outdoors for the start of his journey!

For more information about the Appalachian Trail

You can visit the National Park Service's Appalachian Trail Park Page, which features a link to the AT brochure and map.  Guides and maps are produced and sold for the AT as it passes through each State between Georgia and Maine.  There are several books including the Thru-Hike Planner, the AT Guidebook, the AT Thru Hiker Companion and the Data Book to name just a few that can help hikers who are planning on hiking the entire AT or sections of it.
